President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday hosted elders and leaders of thought from Ogun State, who had paid him a courtesy call. Buhari hosted his visitors at the State House, Abuja.
The Nigerian Ambassador to Switzerland, His Excellency Baba Magudu led other Federal Government representatives to officially receive and welcome the Olota of Otta, HRM Oba Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege P.hD, MCIPR, MPRII, FHEA(Lanlege EkunII, Arole Iganmode-Ogunfunminire) and our mother, Olori Oloruntoyin Obalanlege to Switzerland.
The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, has declared that the areas geographically and historically known as Gbalefa Peninsula; comprising Atan, Iju, Adekoyeni and surrounding communities as well as Sango, Ijoko and Itori fall within his domain.
“Though I am presently on official assignment in Switzerland, I need to remind Alake of Ake that in Ogun State, the settlement of Awori people preceded the establishment of Abeokuta as an Egba Kingdom in 1830. Otta, the foremost Awori town within the present Ogun state and which is the industrial nerve centre, for instance, has been existing since the 15th century.
