A Notorious Cult Leader, Armed Robber Named George In Ijoko Sango Ota has been arrested.

A suspected notorious cult leader and an armed robber, Paul George, have been arrested by the operatives of the Ogun State Police Command.
George, who had been on the wanted list of the command for alleged cult killings and banditry was arrested in Ijoko.

The police source said the suspect had been terrorizing the Ijoko area and environ, blocking several commercial areas and robbing motorists with his gang members armed.


It was gathered that when the suspect was sighted in a hideout, the Divisional Police Officer(DPO), Sango Divisional Headquarters, Nasiru Medele, a Superintendent of Police(SP) led a team comprising of Titiloye Abideen, an Assistant Superintendent of Police(ASP) who is the Officer-in-Charge(O/c), Sango police post, located at Ogbayo-Ijoko  and stormed the hideout where George was arrested.

It was alleged that the suspect had on several occasions disguise in National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) uniform, blocked the roads and forcefully collect tolls and rob motorists.

On interrogation, the suspect denied being an armed robber but confessed that he is a leader of the Eiye cult confraternity.

It was gathered that this was not the first time he was being arrested.

He confess that whenever he and his gang members were arrested and transferred to another unit for discreet investigation and prosecution, they are alleged to bribe their way out by paying between N400,000 and N500,000 for their release.

George was alleged to have killed so many people in Ijoko and environs of Ogun State, prompting the police to beam a searchlight on him.

He was said to have snatched many commercial motorcycles and vehicles from their owners, while armed.

It was gathered that in some of the robbery escapades, he and gang members will break into commercial houses such as eateries and forcefully collect the proceeds of the day from victims.


He was said to have been transferred to the Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad(FSARS), Abeokuta for further investigation.
