100 aspirants jostle for ADC tickets in Ogun state

No fewer than 100 aspirants are jostling for various elective positions ahead of the 2019 elections in Ogun State on the platform of the African Democratic Congress.


The aspirants are seeking ADC tickets for the governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and the state House of Assembly seats Of all the aspirants, only the two-time governorship candidate in the state, Gboyega Isiaka, had notified the party of his ambition to run for the governorship seat.

Also on the list are four senatorial aspirants, including Dr (Mrs) Abisola Shodipo-Clark, the wife of the Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark, 20 contenders for the House of Representatives seat, while others are jostling to represent their constituencies in the State Assembly.

The state Publicity Secretary of the ADC, Abiola Odutola, said the party would soon screen all the aspirants and determine the mode of primary to select the candidates of the party for the 2019 general elections.
