Police arrest robber in army uniform in Ogun State

POLICE in Ogun State has arrested armed robbers operating in the Nigerian Army uniform in Mowe area, in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the State.


According to a statement by the command’s image maker, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said one Adeoye Ayomide (23), was a member of armed robbery syndicate terrorising the area.

The suspect and other members of the gang were said to have robbed a retired army officer by name Adeyemo Adegboyega of a sum of N86,000, sometimes this month, with a broken bottle.

The incident according to the statement was reported at Mowe Divisional Police Headquarters.

Adeoye was arrested by operatives of the Command on Tuesday when they received information that the gang were seen at the area.

A search according to Oyeyemi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, was conducted on the house of Adeoye and recovered more fake army uniform.

The statement said, “The gang have earlier robbed one AdeyemoAdegboyega, a retired army officer of the sum of N86,000 on the 13th of September 2018 with a broken bottle.

“The incident was reported at Mowe Divisional Headquarters consequent upon which the DPO CSP Francis Ebuhoma detailed his operatives to be on the trail of the hoodlums.
