We are at your back Dapo Abiodun - Ogun State Councillors

Councillors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State have declared support for the position of the National Working Committee (NWC) on the candidacy of Dapo Abiodun, as the governorship candidate of the party in the state.

The councillors, under the aegis of Forum of Councillors, converged on the campaign office of Abiodun, in Iperu-Remo, Ogun State, to make their position known.

Speaking on behalf of the councillors, drawn from the 20 local governments and 37 local council development areas of the state, Adewale Nurudeen Aka, said the solidarity march was to support and abide by the NWC’s decision on the governorship matter in Ogun State.

He said as loyal party members, they would always respect the decision taken by the party on any issue, adding that the party should be above everybody, irrespective of status or position.

Echoing Aka’s position, a councillor, Taiwo Solarin, commended Governor Ibikunle Amosun, for his achievements in the saddle and urged him to support the party’s governorship candidate towards a victorious election in 2019.

He also expressed the councillors’ support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s reelection and reiterated their resolve to mobilise support for Abiodun at the grassroots.

In his remarks, a member of the House of Assembly and APC Chief Whip in the House, Adebowale Ajuri, urged the governor to support Abiodun, who, according to him, would continue the good work of Amosun.

Ajuri, said APC must do extra work to ensure victory at next year’s general elections in the state, called on the councillors to mobilise and work for the success of Abiodun at the poll.
