APC crisis: Again, Gov. Amosun takes Oshiomhole to the cleaners

The Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, has again attacked the National Chairman of his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

The Governor was reacting to Oshiomhole’s claims at a press conference in Abuja on Friday.

The former Edo State Governor had blasted Amosun and his Imo State counterpart, Rochas Okorocha, saying there was no room for ’emperor’ in the APC.

However, in a statement signed by the Ogun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Otunba Adedayo Adeneye, on Saturday, Amosun wondered why Oshiomhole was being against consensus arrangement in the state while he (Oshiomhole) was voted into his current position through the process.

The statement read, “We wish to call the attention of Nigerians to another evil being perpetrated by Oshiomhole in Ogun State.

“The emergence of Akinlade was initially through a consensus arrangement as allowed by the party constitution but was nevertheless subjected to a primary election when some gubernatorial aspirants disagreed with the outcome of the consensus arrangement.

“This is, however, without prejudice to the sanctity of the consensus arrangement which Adams Oshiomhole hypocritically tries to demonise.

“Nigerians will recall that Oshiomhole himself was elected National Chairman of the APC by consensus arrangement which witnessed all other contestants to the office being prevailed upon to step down for him (Oshiomhole).

“The ground on which Oshiomhole disputes the gubernatorial primary in Ogun State is that the result was not announced by the State Electoral Committee from Abuja, therefore the governor resorted to self-help.

“We wonder why Oshiomhole accepted the result of the primary election in Lagos State whose result was also not announced by the State Electoral Panel.

“Why will the same scenario be acceptable in Lagos State but regarded as self-help in Ogun State?

“Is it because it was executed by the Capo Di Tutti in Lagos State?”

  1. I'm strong supporter of Gov.Amosun but I'm so disappointed in his disastrous last regime as governor, most especially the role He played in choosing his successor, when you said Hon.Akinlade is a consensus candidate from ogun west approved by ogun central, but ogun east disagreed this means there is no consensus here, and if actually the two zones you claim they approved Hon.Akinlade as governorship candidate of the party are genuine, sir I don't see in anyway the so call consensus candidate of two zones will be defeated by one zone,In my opinion the area which I thought Gov.Amosun got it wrong is consultation and late revelation of candidate.extensive consultation would've given you people choice candidate from ogun west and timely revelation would've proven the transparency of that procedure.I learnt something from this
