The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has expressed readiness to address the challenges of teaching Islamic Religious Knowledge and shortage of Arabic teachers in public primary and secondary schools across the state.

Abiodun, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, stated this while speaking at the Islamic New Year Hijrah 1441 celebration.

A statement on Monday said the programme was organised by the National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations, Ogun State chapter, at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta.

The governor explained that the issue raised by the Muslim body had been brought to his attention.

“I can reliably tell you that the concern that you have with the IRK and Arabic teachers is being looked into by TESCOM and SUBEB to ensure that we have equitable distribution of the dividends of democracy,” he added.
