Rotary Club Donates World Class Medical Equipment To PHC In Ogun State



The Rotary club of Ota in partnership with the Rotary Club of Brampton, Canada, responded to the dearth of medical facilities at the Otun Primary Health Centre, Ota, Ogun state, by providing medical equipment worth over N20 million to the health center at the weekend.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mrs. Funke Salau Doris Opportunities President of Rotary club of Ota, who is also a Major Donor and a Benefactor of Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, said, “The upgrading of Otun Health Centre with medical types of equipment worth 44, 000 US dollars to improve its medical services to the general public was sourced from a matching grant from Rotary International and Rotary Club of Brampton District 7080 Ontario, Canada and the Rotary club of Ota, district 9110.

“The medical equipment provided under this project include; hospital beds and matrasses, a baby incubator, washing machine, 2 air conditioners, X-ray machine, digitizer machine, microscopic specimen machine, ECG machine, and a 5.5KVA generator set.” She enumerated.

Rotarian Bola Oyebade, the Governor District 9110, Rotary Nigeria, averred that the Otun Health center ranks as the only primary health center with such medical facilities in the whole of Ogun state at the moment, courtesy of Rotary, harping on the need for the community members to take ownership of the equipment by providing adequate security to prevent them from being vandalized or stolen.

HRM. Oba Abdulkabir Adeyemi Obalanlege, Olota of Ota, appreciated the Rotary club for their kind gesture in providing the primary health center in his domain with such ‘state of the art medical equipment, describing it as a rare privilege for the health center to be among the very few in the state to have such equipment, he, therefore, called on the community to provide the needed security for the preservation of that equipment.
