Ogun Secures Court of Appeal — Gov. Abiodun Confirms

Governor Dapo Abiodun has announced the Federal Government’s approval for the establishment of a Court of Appeal in Ogun State.

Until now, litigants and lawyers from Ogun had to travel to Ibadan for appellate cases, a situation that caused delays, stress, and extra costs.

Speaking at the service marking the 2025/2026 legal year in Abeokuta, Abiodun described the approval as a major relief for the state’s judiciary and citizens, stressing that justice must be guided by integrity, impartiality, and courage.

The Chief Judge of Ogun State, Justice Modupeola Dipeolu, also praised the governor’s efforts, noting that over 80% of cases at the Ibadan Appeal Court originated from Ogun. She said the development would expand access to justice and reduce hardship for litigants.
